Nashville, Tennessee - March 28, 2006 - NASTT Announces 15th Anniversary Industry Achievement Award Recipients Winners Singled Out for Impact, Innovation and Contribution to the Trenchless Technology Industry.
PPIC is pleased to announce that the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) has recognized its "significant contributions to the development of technology and to the growth of the trenchless industry" with an Industry Achievement Award.
NASTT applauded the winners of its 15th Anniversary Industry Achievement Awards at the No-Dig Conference and Exhibition held in Nashville, Tenn. on March 28, 2006. These prestigious awards recognize exceptional achievement among North American companies, municipalities and educational institutions that have made significant contributions to the trenchless industry over the past 15 years.
The selection of the winners was an extensive process conducted by the NASTT Awards Selection Committee which reviewed over 500 candidates. Selection criteria included the level of participation that organizations, or its representatives, have contributed to educational endeavors; to the overall promotion of the trenchless industry; for outstanding commercial impact and/or involvement in significant and noteworthy trenchless projects; and for the level of continuous participation and involvement in the success of the trenchless industry during the last 15 years.
The Pressure Pipe Inspection Company was recognized in the category "Assessment" along with such notable firms as: Aries Industries Inc., CUES, Inc., MALA and R.S. Technical Services, Inc. PPIC evaluates the condition of water transmission systems utilizing a suite of unique and patented techniques to pinpoint damaged sections of pipe. By establishing the baseline condition of each pipe, areas of local distress can be identified. This can lead to significant savings by eliminating the unnecessary replacement of large lengths of transmission mains - maximizing the safe life of the asset and the effectiveness of the budget spend.
"Your efforts have helped build one of the most exciting areas of infrastructure-related technology to be developed in the last century," remarked Piero Salvo, 2006 No-Dig Program Chairman and NASTT Vice Chairman.
"PPIC is honored by the receipt of this award," stated Dr. Brian Mergelas, President and CEO of PPIC. "NASTT is doing an exceptional job in communicating technical advances in pipeline management practices to owners and operators of water transmission pipelines. This award affirms that we are helping water transmission pipeline operators make informed asset management decisions."
