Pressure Pipe Announces New Acquisition

One of Canada's hottest startups continues explosive growth

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - November 16, 2001 - Canada's fourth hottest startup, as proclaimed by Profit Magazine, is expanding its presence in the United States. The Pressure Pipe Inspection Company Ltd. announced this week the acquisition of Pipeline Technologies of Scottsdale, Arizona.

"Pipeline Technologies is a great fit with our company," said Pressure Pipe President Brian Mergelas. "Their acoustic monitoring technology to examine water pipelines and their repair services will complement our diverse range of services. This will provide our customers with a more complete way to evaluate and maintain their pipeline infrastructure."

Pipeline Technologies, founded in 1996, pioneered the use of acoustic monitoring to assess the condition of water pipes. Will Worthington, Pipeline's President, will become Vice President, Business Development for Mexico and South America as Pressure Pipe continues its global expansion plans. His son, Loren Worthington, will take on the role of Controller and Administrative Manager of U.S. Operations.

"We're excited to be joining the world leader in water pipe evaluation," said Will Worthington. "By combining our services, we can help governments around the world better maintain their systems and reduce operating costs."
