Dr. Brian Mergelas, Ph.D Dr. Brian Mergelas is the founding President and CEO of the Pressure Pipe Inspection Company. His commitment to advancing condition assessment solutions for municipal and industrial water markets is well documented. In addition to publishing over 50 papers in academic and industry journals, he coauthored the America Water Works Association Research Foundation (AwwaRF) book “Electromagnetic Inspection of Prestressed Concrete Pressure Pipe.” A visionary in the water industry, Dr. Mergelas believes that by using advanced pipeline assessment technologies to establish the condition of a water transmission network, operators can more effectively manage their critical assets. The infrastructure-funding gap as identified by EPA, AWWA, WERF and others can be overcome by using advanced technology to prioritize repair and rehabilitation and to extend the safe operating life of pipelines. |

Cliff Jones Mr. Jones joined PPIC in February 2002. Previously he was President and CEO of companies offering technology services and software solutions in North America and internationally, as well as running his own management consulting company. Cliff is responsible for all operational aspects of PPIC, including sales and marketing, R&D, operations, inspections, project management and engineering. Cliff has an honors degree in industrial Chemistry, a teaching degree, and an MBA from Warwick University, one of the top business schools in the UK. He has also presented a number of papers at ASCE and AWWA conferences. |

Dave Adams Dave Adams joins the team after more than 25 years of experience with big 4 accounting firms and senior financial executive positions in a variety of industries with both privately held and public companies. Dave is responsible for all financial, strategic and investor related activities in PPIC. Dave brings a strong operational and strategic background to the financial role. Dave has extensive experience with entrepreneurial growth companies with international operations, including Name Inc, SoftQuad Software Limited, TALPX, Alpa Lumber Group and DDB Needham Advertising. Prior to PPIC, Dave had his own consulting firm and prior to that he was CFO of Grand & Toy Limited. Dave is experienced in developing partnerships and joint ventures and developing the infrastructure needed to enter new markets. |

David Roy Mr. Roy joined the company in 2003. PPIC delivers infrastructure solutions to the pipeline industry through a combination of progressive technologies, innovative research and development, and partnerships with other industry leaders. Their technologies allow decisions about pipeline rehabilitation or replacement to be made based on science rather than intuition. Mr. Roy's current responsibilities build on his previous experience in risk prevention by enabling him to focus on how to avoid pipe failures, which is the driving focus for PPIC. Prior to joining PPIC, Mr. Roy held senior positions in the health care industry and the nuclear industry. In the health care industry, he developed programs to reduce risk for health care providers and worked with and through the reinsurance providers to prevent catastrophic claims. Similarly, in the nuclear field he was involved in risk prevention for occupational health risk programs. Mr. Roy’s educational background includes Business Administration, Risk Management and Financial Management. |

Xiangjie Kong Mr. Kong has over 10 years experience in developing innovative condition assessment solutions for the water industry. He joined the Pressure Pipe Inspection Company in 1998 after receiving his M.Sc. degree in Physics from Queen’s University. Since then, he has played a key role in the company’s rapid growth of becoming the world leader in condition assessment of water pipelines. As the VP of Technology, he manages PPIC’s R&D and engineering, and functions as the technical advisor for company inspection services. He is also responsible for research collaborations with partners, various universities and government research agencies. At PPIC, Mr. Kong led the development of some of the most advanced water pipeline inspection techniques and tools. In addition to publishing over 30 papers in academic and industry journals, he was the co-principal investigator of a research project sponsored by American Water Works Association Research Foundation and co-authored the book “Electromagnetic Inspection of Prestressed Concrete Pressure Pipe” on condition assessment of water mains. Most recently, he led the development of PipeDiver, a revolutionary free-swimming tool for live inspection of water pipelines. |

Michael Stadnyckyj Mike Stadnyckyj joins the team with over 12 years experience in global marketing strategy and team development for leading water companies. He has extensive experience in the B2B market developing, implementing and driving integrated communications programs in a wide variety of industrial, municipal, green/leed and commercial market sectors. Prior to joining PPIC Mike held the position of Global Marketing & Communications Leader at GE Power & Water, a division of GE Energy Infrastructure. In this role he was responsible for worldwide efforts to develop new and more effective channels for communicating with customers, sales teams, media, shareholders and other important stakeholders. He developed and managed a global team of 17 employees responsible for digital media, e-marketing, industry/mainstream media, customer interactions, brand management, collateral and delivery of a variety of growth campaigns for a multi-billion dollar business. Mike also served as the Global Marketing Manager at ZENON Environmental Inc. He built the marketing function and team from the ground up and worked closely with global commercial functions to differentiate the company. The ZENON brand name became one of the most recognized in the global water industry and one of Canada’s top environmental technology success stories. |
